Mitsubishi Motors Australia has introduced a special ASX Black Edition to its line-up based on the entry-level ES CVT.

ASX Black Edition is equipped with sharp styling enhancements to give the best-selling small SUV even more edge, as well as specification upgrades usually reserved for the top-spec ASX.

Exterior styling enhancements on the ASX Black Edition include gloss black alloy wheels, door mirrors and front skid plate, a chrome exhaust tip, front fog lamps, privacy glass and an integrated indicator in the side mirrors.

In the cabin, the Black Edition sports aluminum pedals, carbon fibre pattern on the centre panel, leatherette bolsters with micro-suede seating and red stitching accents on the steering wheel, gear shift knob and park brake lever.

Specification upgrades include rear parking sensors and smart key with one touch start, a feature usually reserved for the top-spec model in the range.

ASX Black Edition has a Recommended Retail Price starting at $26,740 and is limited to 1,000 units.

Available in Starlight, Black and Titanium, ASX Black Edition is now available at Mitsubishi dealers.

Australia’s most popular small SUV range – the Mitsubishi ASX – has been reconfigured for 2019.

For the updated model year, the ASX will be exclusively powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder MIVEC petrol engine and adopt 2WD across the range.  Mitsubishi will also refine the ASX model line-up by offering three specification levels; ES, LS and Exceed.

An optional ADAS safety pack is also available on ES and is generously equipped with Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), along with reversing sensors, dusk sensing headlamps and rain sensing wipers. Exterior features include front fog lamps and door mirrors with side turn lamps. The ASX ES optioned with Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) will have a recommended retail pricing of $26,990.

Moving up the range, the LS features smart key with one-touch start, FCM and LDW along with auto high beam and privacy glass.  Exterior stying is enhanced with two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels whilst the interior boasts microsuede seats and leather-look bolsters.

ASX Exceed is fitted with BSW, LCA and RCTA in addition to key features including panoramic glass roof with LED mood lighting, leather seat facings and heated front seats.

MMAL CEO John Signoriello said ASX is the cornerstone of Mitsubishi’s SUV line-up and leads the market in its combination of stylish looks, outstanding value and compact SUV practicality.

“ASX is a perennial favourite with SUV shoppers so we’ve taken the time to introduce meaningful improvements without altering ASX’s winning formula,” he said.

“As such, we’ve sharpened ASX’s value proposition by introducing a new entry-level ES range – complete with ADAS safety option.

“We’re confident buyers will agree the ASX range is even more attractive with Mitsubishi’s 2019 updates.”

The 2019 ASX range is available at Mitsubishi dealers with Recommended Retail Pricing starting from $23,490 for the manual ASX ES.
