Honda Australia has added two limited edition models to the brands lineup within the Honda Jazz and Honda CR-V nameplate range.

“As a brand we will always have a lineup that is strong, excellent value-for-money and right for the Australian market, all built with the Honda DNA of world-class engineering, reliability and functionality.  In between, where possible we add in limited edition models which have always been popular with our customers as they represent even better value for money for a limited time,” said Stephen Collins, Director, Honda Australia.   “I know our customers will once again see that value in our limited edition Jazz +Sport and CR-V +Sport, both of which are on sale from today.”

Jazz +Sport

Honda Australia’s family oriented CR-V SUV has received a 5-star safety rating in the latest Australasian New Car Assessment Program.

As Australia’s leading independent vehicle safety organisation, ANCAP rated the Honda CR-V as one of the top choices among the latest tests. Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins said: “The fifth-generation Honda CR-V already offers an unsurpassed combination of style, versatility, technology and value.

“As a family-oriented SUV, CR-V customers and those considering purchasing a new CR-V can be assured that the CR-V’s Advance Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure puts a priority on crash safety.”

The ACE body structure offers energy-dispersing crash stroke front frame rails, hot-stamped ultra-high-strength steel door rings and sills, and tailor-tempered B-pillars and rear frame structures, which help to protect occupants in a collision, while also helping minimise weight.

The structure uses the engine compartment to efficiently absorb and disperse collision energy during a head-on vehicle-to-vehicle collision. It features a frame structure composed of a highly efficient energy-absorbing main frame, a bulkhead upper side frame that absorbs the upper part of the collision energy, and a lower member that helps prevent misalignment of the frames of the vehicles involved. This design disperses collision forces over a larger frontal area, which enhances energy absorption of the engine compartment, reduces the chance of deformation of the passenger compartment and results in enhanced occupant protection. At the same time, the structure reduces the chance of vertical or lateral misalignment between the vehicle and other vehicle's safety structures.

During a frontal collision, a conventional body structure generally concentrates the loads from the impact through two pathways running longitudinally through the lower portion of the frame. The body structure’s front side frame is designed to prevent cabin deformation by distributing forces through multiple major load bearing pathways and away from the passenger compartment. The overall result is a high level of bending and twisting rigidity for the body, combined with enhanced crash-worthiness with no additional weight penalty.

ANCAP’s specialised safety rating program provides Australian consumers with transparent information on occupant and pedestrian protection levels and the collision avoidance capabilities different vehicles would deliver in the most common types of serious crashes.

ANCAP Chief Executive Officer, James Goodwin said: “Customers who have bought or are considering the Honda CR-V which launched earlier this year can be assured of a high level of safety with low injury readings recorded in all physical crash tests.”

The all-new, fifth-generation Honda CR-V offers an unsurpassed combination of style, versatility, technology and value. It boasts bold and sophisticated new styling, a more spacious, versatile and premium-quality interior, its first-ever turbocharged petrol engine, and a host of new features and technologies for customers that improve connectivity, comfort and convenience.

Honda will provide every CR-V customer with a powerful and efficient 140kW VTEC Turbo engine with Earth Dreams Technology and CVT, smart keyless entry, Active Noise Control, dual-zone climate, alloy wheels, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus much more, including Honda’s trademark quality and reliability.

Based on an all-new platform architecture, the new CR-V also targets the highest levels of quality and driving refinement in its class, including benchmark steering precision, ride comfort, body control and cabin quietness.

The Honda CR-V is the world’s No.1 selling SUV* because it is designed to put families at the centre of everything it does.

“Twenty years ago the first generation Honda CR-V redefined the segment by delivering space, efficiency and versatility in a compact package. One that Australian families had never seen before,” said Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins. “Our customers consistently tell us what a joy their CR-Vs are to live with and the fifth-generation model builds on this reputation with new levels of style, versatility, technology and value.”

The all-new Honda CR-V is instantly more stylish, appearing lower and wider on the road, however, the more striking silhouette surrounds an even more spacious and sophisticated interior. And for the first time, Honda CR-V offers a 7-seat version which extends its appeal to growing families.

A long bonnet, longer wheelbase, short rear overhang and new dual exhaust outlets give the new Honda CR-V a more sophisticated and athletic presence. The strong visual cues and sophisticated design offer hints to the dynamic driving experience, combined with superior versatility and customer-focused technologies and connectivity.

“The all-new CR-V is bolder and more stylish than ever, and in true Honda fashion it nails the brief for versatility with more interior space plus a new seven seat option,” said Collins.

The powerful and efficient 140kW VTEC Turbo drivetrain underpins new levels of capability both on and off-road, with sharper steering, more dynamic handling, stronger braking performance, plus the availability of the latest generation electronically-controlled AWD system.

“Unlike most competitors, the all-new Honda CR-V offers an advanced 140kW VTEC Turbo engine as standard across the range, which delivers a fine balance of power and efficiency to every customer,” added Collins.

The all-new Honda CR-V range will be available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, with seating for five or seven passengers across a simplified line-up of five grades:

Grade Seats Drivetrain
VTi 5 2WD
VTi-S 5 2WD

VTi-L 7 2WD
VTi-LX 5 AWD

“The all-new CR-V represents brilliant value, especially for customers looking for a premium SUV experience for under $35,000. In fact, the entry VTi grade in the new CR-V range more closely matches the previous generation VTi-S, while adding $3,700 of value over its predecessor,” Collins said.

All Honda models, including the all-new CR-V, now enjoy Honda’s new 5-year, unlimited kilometre warranty and the Honda Tailored Servicing Program. The Honda Tailored Servicing Program provides certainty for owners to know how much they can expect to pay for a particular scheduled service, regardless of which Honda dealer they visit.

“Our just-announced 5-year, unlimited kilometre warranty is a sure sign that Honda is putting the customer at the centre of everything we do,” Collins said. “It ensures that customers cross-shopping CR-V against its key competitors, have another compelling reason to put CR-V on their shopping list.”

The all-new Honda CR-V also includes the Honda SensingTM suite of advanced safety and driver-assist technologies, which includes for the first time on CR-V both Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM).

Additionally, new driver-assistive features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) now with Low Speed Follow (LSF), along with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), High-beam Support System (HSS) and Driver Attention Monitor (DAM).

Utilising Honda’s next-generation Advanced Compatibility EngineeringTM (ACETM) body structure, the 2018 Honda CR-V targets the highest available collision safety ratings.

Honda has pulled the wraps off an all-new, fifth-generation CR-V, America’s best-selling SUV over the past 20 years.

The completely redesigned and reengineered 2017 CR-V, going on sale this winter, boasts bold new styling, a more premium interior, the model’s first-ever turbocharged engine and a host of new features and technologies aimed at maintaining CR-V’s status as the outright benchmark in the highly popular compact SUV segment.

American car buyers have purchased nearly 4 million CR-Vs since its U.S. launch in 1997.

“The new Honda CR-V raises the bar in every imaginable way, delivering more performance, space and premium content together with higher fuel economy ratings and value than ever before,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division.

“Customers are going to love what they see and what they experience behind the wheel of this new CR-V.”

Bold and Sophisticated New Design

The new CR-V styling heads in a fresh new direction with an aggressive attitude, thanks to crisp and sharp front-end design elements, aggressive stylized headlights surrounded by a wing-shaped LED DRL array on all trims, and wide, muscular fenders. The long hood, longer wheelbase, short rear overhang and dual exhausts give the new CR-V a more sophisticated and athletic presence.

The CR-V’s new windswept front end appearance includes signature Honda LED headlights (Touring trim), a Honda-first Automatic Shutter Grille System that lowers aerodynamic drag, uprated aluminum alloy wheels (sizes 17 to 18 inches depending on trim) and narrower A-pillars for improved visibility.

Adding convenience is a Honda-first available Hands-Free Access Power Tailgate, which allows opening and closing the tailgate with a foot activated sensor under the rear of the vehicle. Available Auto High Beam with High Beam Support (HSS) headlights, chrome garnishes, rain-sensing windshield wipers, roof rails and numerous Genuine Honda Accessories also expand beauty, convenience and functionality.

New Powertrain and Chassis Technology

The 2017 CR-V in EX and higher trims will feature CR-V’s first ever turbocharged engine, a more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.5-liter DOHC, direct-injected and turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder powerplant rated at 190 horsepower (SAE net) and delivering incredibly refined and responsive performance across the engine’s full operating range.

Combined with the CR-V’s more aerodynamic body, the new turbocharged powerplant will garner the highest EPA fuel economy ratings in the compact SUV class. CR-V LX trims will be powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC, direct-injected i-VTECÔ engine, and both engines will be mated to a smooth shifting and sporty continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Honda G-Shift control logic. Detailed specifications, including EPA ratings, will be provided closer to launch.

The all-new body and chassis design in the 2017 CR-V provides more agile and confident handling, greater refinement, additional ground clearance and superior overall versatility. Its front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link suspension utilize specially tuned low-friction dampers, with both FWD and AWD models including tubular front and solid rear stabilizer bars that promote quick turn-in and flatter cornering. Dual-pinion, variable ratio Electric Power Steering (EPS) also contributes to the CR-V’s direct and satisfying steering feel.

More Premium, Spacious and Technologically Advanced Interior

The 2017 CR-V also raises the bar for interior refinement, utility and premium features in the compact SUV class. The more spacious cabin, with top-in-class interior space and the best rear seat legroom in its class, features upgraded materials throughout, including a new soft-touch instrument panel and more intricately stitched seats. A color TFT driver information interface (DII) center meter display adds to the handsome new design aesthetic.

The CR-V offers the latest in-vehicle connectivity and audio performance with a new generation of advanced technologies. Available features include a 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio interface with Android operating system that now features a physical volume knob as well as an available new Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ developed in cooperation with the experts at Garmin®.

The CR-V ’s Display Audio system is compatible with the Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ platforms, giving customers seamless integration of key smartphone features and functions, including smartphone-powered GPS navigation and voice-controlled search capabilities.

Some of the key new comfort and convenience features available on the 2017 Honda CR-V include remote engine start, dual-zone climate controls, heated side mirrors, an Electric Parking Brake (EPB), rear USB charging ports, front passenger seat with 4-way power adjustment, driver’s seat with 8-way power adjustment and 4-way power lumbar support, and heated front and rear outboard seats.

Advanced Safety and Driver-Assistive Technology

The refreshed 2015 CR-V debuted the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies, helping it capture the 2015 Motor Trend Sport Utility of the Year honors. The 2017 CR-V further expands the application of Honda Sensing as standard equipment on EX and higher trims, expected to account for upwards of 75 per cent of CR-V sales.

Honda Sensing includes Collision Mitigation Braking (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and pedestrian sensing capability, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with low-speed follow and Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS). Additional new driver-assistive technologies include the available Blind Spot Information (BSI), Rear Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM) and Auto High Beam (HSS) headlights.

Utilizing Honda’s next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, the 2017 CR-V targets the highest available collision safety ratings, including an NCAP 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), including a SUPERIOR rating for frontal crash prevention when equipped with Honda Sensing.

The 2017 Honda CR-V will be produced at three plants in North America – in East Liberty, Ohio; Alliston, Ontario, Canada; and, for the first time, in Greensburg, Indiana using domestic and globally sourced parts. Engines for the new CR-V will be manufactured in Anna, Ohio and in Alliston, Ontario, with the CVT being produced in Russells Point, Ohio.

Honda is spicing up the mid-size SUV segment, adding extra value into its popular CR-V range in the 2016 Limited Edition models. Pricing for the new CR-V Limited Edition offers excellent value for money for customers. The comprehensively equipped Limited Edition adds $5,500 worth of additional features at a price premium of just $1,700 more than the regular VTi (AT) variant.

Available in both 2WD and 4WD, the CR-V LE has a national driveaway price of $32,990* for the 2WD and $35,690* for the 4WD. The CR-V LE models also feature Honda’s LaneWatch™ blind spot monitoring system, which provides the driver with a view of traffic in the blind spot of the passenger side through a camera in the passenger door mirror. This is shown in real-time on the seven-inch Display Audio touch screen.
