The original Mahindra PikUp, launched in Australia in 2007 has been plying the roads and back country of Australia for ten years. With thousands of Mahindra PikUps sold to Australian customers over the past 10 years, the PikUp has built a trusted and solid reputation as a reliable, rugged and value for money ute for the Australian market. Over 500,000 PikUps & Scorpio SUVs have been sold globally since the launch of the original Scorpio in 2002.

The All New Mahindra PikUp boasts significant enhancements in its drivetrain to 103 KW of power / 330 Nm Torque, all-new 6 speed gearbox, totally new attractive interiors that will appeal to a much wider customer profile with the inclusion of ISOFIX child restraints with top tether standard on all Dual Cab models, and help Mahindra to strengthen its position in the local pikup/ute segment.

About the Next Generation Mahindra Pik-Up:

EXTERIOR: A FRESH NEW LOOK

The Mahindra PikUp’s clean, contemporary lines improve the look of the vehicle while maintaining a tough signature stance. The most compelling changes are to the front of the vehicle where the grille, headlights, bonnet and foglamps have all undergone a substantial redesign.

The new grille design is smarter, utilising a glossy black finish with subtle chrome accents (S10 Models), as well as a more prominent Mahindra badge, while the lower air intake has been reshaped to provide a stronger visual integration with the grille. Black mesh inserts are consistently applied to both the main grille and the lower air intake, creating a more consistent appearance.

The headlights on either side of the grille are also completely new, with a cleaner, more resolute appearance and a new curved LED Daytime Running Light signature for the S10 Double Cab. Bolder fog lamps are mounted in restyled apertures that are linked to the lower edge of the headlights. The redesigned front-end styling is accompanied by static bending projection lamps.

INTERIOR: THE NEW AGE STYLE

The spacious cabin of the Next Generation PikUp has undergone important upgrades as part of the model line-up. Perhaps the most obvious improvements are to the upholstery and the six-inch (6”), full colour touch screen display on the S10 Double Cab models located in the centre console.

The Mahindra PikUp’s cabin is also comprehensively equipped. As the flagship model of the range, the S10 Double Cab benefits from useful features such as remote central locking, cruise control, satellite navigation, reversing camera and a multifunction steering wheel.

The upgrade doesn’t end here. With smart features like auto wipers and intelligent headlamps the vehicle promises to take the customer experience to the next level of comfort and performance. Fully Automatic Climate Control further enhances the comfort of occupants in the S10 variants.

SAFETY: REASSURING PEACE OF MIND

Safety features like Hill Descent Control, ESC, ABS, EBD, Roll-over mitigation, Airbags, Crash protection crumple zones and a Collapsible steering column are standard across the range. Strengthening our commitment to safety and comfort, we have added head rests and 3-point lap sash seat belts for all seats along with two ISOFIX anchors in the rear seat with three top tether points for all Double Cab models.

DRIVETRAIN: POWER AND EFFICIENCY

The Next Generation PikUp has an updated 2.2- litre four-cylinder mHawk turbodiesel engine which makes use of a variable geometry turbocharger to produce 103kw. The impressive torque peak of 330 Nm is reached at just 1,600rpm, and sustained to 2,800 rpm, ensuring excellent in-gear acceleration and great towing power.

The turbodiesel engine is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels, with 4×4 transmission with low range. The entire range of the Next Generation Mahindra PikUp is fitted with an Eaton MLD (Mechanical Locking Differential) as standard.

The new Great Wall Steed Dual Cab Ute boasts a tough new exterior design, dominated by a new large chrome grille. Integrated with new headlamps, daytime running lamps and chrome brightwork, the Steed represents a clear evolution from the last Great Wall ute launched in Australia.

The new Great Wall is 305mm longer than its predecessor and 30mm higher. The rear tub is now 155mm longer, while a new front grille design adds a further 150mm to the front of the car. Standard exterior features include side steps, a stainless steel sports bar, mirror-mounted indicators, daytime running lamps and 16-inch alloy rims.

Inside, the new ute is packed with creature comforts designed to delight drivers and passengers alike. The list of standard features is long, including heated seats, powered driver’s seat (6-way), cruise control with steering wheel controls, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, stainless steel scuff plates and climate control air-conditioning.

Safety was a key feature for the engineering team, with the new Steed boasting six airbags, including full-length side curtain airbags. Every Great Wall Steed dual cab ute also comes standard with Bosch’s V9.0 Electronic Stability Program, including ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Brake Assist, and Hill-start Assist Control. It is also one of the few on the market that comes standard with Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Mandatory on passenger vehicles sold in the USA and EU, TPMS provides the driver with instant warnings of abnormal tyre pressures. Safety experts believe incorrectly inflated tyres are responsible for numerous accidents. In addition, running correct pressures reduces tyre damage, extends tyre service life and ensures optimum fuel economy.

Powertrain

The 2016 Great Wall Steed offers two proven powertrain choices upgraded to achieve Euro V emissions compliance: a fuel-injected 2.4-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre common rail turbo-diesel. The powerful turbo-diesel produces a healthy 110 kilowatts of power arriving at 4000 rpm and a user-friendly 310 Newton-metres of torque available from 1800-2800 rpm. Matched to a six-speed manual transmission, the Euro V-compliant turbo-diesel Steed delivers good fuel economy of 9.0 litres per 100km and a range of more than 800 kilometres.

The engine’s torque delivery has been tuned to deliver greater responsiveness, faster torque delivery and better acceleration feel. The turbo-diesel is available in 4x2 and 4x4. For customers who prefer petrol, the Steed is available with a 2.4-litre multi-point fuel injection engine, delivering 100kW and 205Nm. Matched with a five-speed manual transmission, the petrol is available only in 4x2.

Both engines are built to help the new Great Wall Steed Dual Cab tackle Australian conditions and become the trade tool of choice for Australian farmers and tradespeople. The Steed boasts a payload of 1010kg and a braked towing capacity of 2000kg and comes standard with four heavy duty tie-down points in the lined tub.

Nissan has announced that Single Cab, King Cab and Dual Cab Chassis variants of the Australian-market NP300 Navara range are now on sale. These latest model variants comprise 13 separate versions and join the Dual Cab pickup variants that commenced sales in June this year. These new variants are now on sale and complete Nissan’s NP300 Navara model range in Australia.

The all-new NP300 Navara has been praised for a variety of standout features, including the availability of the impressive twin-turbo diesel YS23DDTT engine with its 140kW / 450Nm output (ST and ST-X), the standard-fitment seven SRS airbags, including driver knee airbag, a maximum braked-trailer towing capacity of 3,500kg and class-leading diesel fuel economy. Like the NP300 Navara Dual Cab range, the Single Cab and King Cab variants enjoy similar feature-rich standard equipment lists and competitive pricing, offering tremendous value to Australian buyers.

Single Cab
The NP300 Navara Single Cab range is available in two model grades – DX and RX –with either a QR25 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (122kW and 238Nm, DX 4x2 only) or the YS23DDT 2.3-litre single-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine (120kW and 403Nm). Both 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains are available, both controlled by a standard-fitment six-speed manual transmission; a seven-speed automatic is available as an option for the turbo-diesel RX 4x4.

All Single Cab models are cab-chassis in configuration. A pickup, style-side rear body is not available. Maximum payload capacities for NP300 Navara Single Cab models range from 1,196kg to 1,362kg, depending on model grade and drivetrain. All Single Cab variants are fitted with leaf spring rear suspension.

King Cab
Adding space and style is the all-new NP300 Navara King Cab, which is available in three model grades: RX, ST and the range-leading ST-X. The King Cab body design offers seating for up to four occupants, with rear seat access via a clever reverse-opening door panel behind each side door. The King Cab range is available only in turbo-diesel power, specifically single-turbo-diesel (120kW and 403Nm) for the RX grade and a twin-turbo-diesel (140kW and 450Nm) for the ST and ST-X grades.  The RX grade for the NP300 Navara King Cab is available in either cab-chassis or with a pickup style rear body. The ST and ST-X grades are available only as a pickup. All King Cab variants are fitted with leaf spring rear suspension.

Dual Cab Chassis
Also joining the Australian NP300 Navara catalogue is one additional variant of the Dual Cab range: the Dual Cab-Chassis 4x4. This workhorse-oriented Dual Cab variant will allow fitment of a drop-side tray cargo body and comes fitted with leaf spring rear suspension and a maximum payload capacity of 1,151kg.# It is available only in the RX model grade as a 4x4 with single-turbo-diesel power. Its list of standard inclusions is the same as the corresponding King Cab RX 4x4 variant. Example features include:
