Honda HR-V is the world’s most popular Small SUV*, and remains a consistent top three choice among private buyers in Australia.

Launched locally in 2015, HR-V quickly established itself within the Small SUV category and enticed a new generation of customers to the Honda brand. The secret to HR-V’s success is its unsurpassed ability in delivering stylish looks, outstanding packaging, a refined driving experience, and excellent value in a compact SUV footprint. It’s simply the complete Small SUV.

And for 2018, Honda HR-V builds on these strengths with refreshed styling, a sharper drive, improved safety and technology across the range. The star of the revised line-up is the all-new RS grade, which combines sportier styling with a sharper drive, making it the most engaging HR-V ever.

Powered by Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology, HR-V features a smooth 1.8 litre, i-VTEC engine coupled to a revised Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with new stepped ratios, delivering a great combination of driving performance and fuel economy.

The 2018 HR-V arrives in four model grades: VTi, VTi-S, new RS and VTi-LX. Design enhancements across the range brings fresh, more contemporary style to HR-V which echoes the bold styling cues of Honda Civic. Key to this are a new front bumper and grille across the range, along with striking LED headlamps from VTi-S and above.

Performance has also been improved with Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology CVT now featuring stepped ratios at full throttle enhancing the sporty feel and feedback to the driver and giving more responsive acceleration.

Honda Australia has announced pricing and specifications for the updated HR-V Lineup on sale from 1st August.

The HR-V stable now houses a four grade lineup starting from $24,990* for the VTi and rounding out from $34,590* for the top model VTi-LX.   Launched in 2015, the HR-V was the first of a new generation of Honda vehicles introduced in Australia.  Heralded for its sleek styling, comfortable driving dynamics and class-leading versatility, the HR-V has consistently sold well and garnered a legion of loyal and happy owners.

Honda Australia Director Stephen Collins, said the refreshed HR-V lineup builds on the qualities that the car was first lauded for with improved safety, styling and sportiness all while retaining its unmatched versatility.

“The HR-V is one of the best cars we have brought to Australia in the last decade.  Since launch it has consistently been in the top three of private sales for the small SUV segment year-on-year and we believe it to be the most complete small SUV available.  The introduction of a new RS grade, builds on the Honda DNA of sporty styling and world-class engineering while ensuring there is no compromise on the comfort and versatility this car is known and loved for,” said Collins.

The HR-V is the epitome of Honda’s ‘Man Maximum, Machine Minimum’ design philosophy of maximising space available for people and minimsing the space required for mechanical components.  This is brought to life in Honda’s unique magic seats that flip and fold in 18 different ways allowing the HR-V to have the perfect balance of passenger comfort, agile driving dynamics with utility functionality.    The size-defying boot of the HR-V allows for exceptional cargo carrying, thanks to a potential 1533-litre capacity.

The HR-V’s styling is sleek, understated sophistication with sharp lines and a wide stance ensuring strong urban driving dynamics. It has unmatched space and versatility with a refined interior with luxurious appointments, all competitively priced providing customers the complete small SUV.

HR-V will now be available in four variants: VTi, VTi-S, RS and VTi-LX.  The proven engine does not change with a 1.8 litre 4 cylinder SOHC iVTEC and is coupled with a CVT across the range.  It produces 105kW @6500rpm and 172NM of torque @4300rpm with a combined fuel consumption of 6.9 litres per 100km in combined conditions.

The entry level VTi is competitively priced and feature packed with LED daytime running lights, remote keyless entry, auto climate control single-zone, emergency stop signal, customisable speed alarm, electric parking brake with brake hold and tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel.

Stepping up to the VTi-S there are new designed 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, rear parking sensors, LED front fog lights, LED headlights with auto on/off functionality, chrome interior finishes, smart entry with push button start and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather gear knob.

The RS variant is all new to the HR-V lineup, replacing the VTi-L and designed for the customers who want a more edgy and sporty HR-V.  While retaining the proven 1.8-litre engine shared by its stablemates, the RS is also equipped with a new variable gear ratio steering within the motion adaptive electric power steering, translating to a more dynamic and direct ride and handling and overall fun to drive experience.

The exterior design of the RS is in keeping with the badge moniker with 18-inch alloy sports wheels, black chrome front sports grille, black mirror caps, dark chrome door handles, honeycomb front lower grille and fog garnish, a piano black body kit, privacy glass on the rear doors and the RS badge.

Inside the RS houses leather-appointed seat trim across driver and all passenger seats, heated front seats, smooth sports leather steering wheel and leather gear knob and sports pedals.

Rounding out the grade lineup is the VTi-LX featuring a further level of sophisticated styling with chrome door handles and a panoramic sunroof.  Equipped with front and rear parking sensors, power window with automatic one touch functionality, LED Interior light and LED Map light, auto dimming rear view mirror and an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat.

The VTi-LX also comes standard with Honda’s Advanced Driver Assist System featuring forward collision warning, high-beam support system and lane departure warning.

Safety is always paramount for Honda, with the five-star ANCAP safety rated HR-V no exception. For the first time Honda’s City-Brake Active System is standard across the range providing audio and visual warnings to the driver in the first instance and applying braking in the second when the vehicle detects a potential collision to minimise the severity.

Honda’s unique LaneWatch system is also now standard from the VTi-S upwards, providing the driver with an 80-degree view of the passenger side; plus all grades are equipped with a multi-angle reversing camera.

The multimedia functionality of the HR-V remains simple and efficient with a 7-inch colour display featuring Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity with built-in satellite navigation across the range.

The new HR-V lineup is on sale across dealers nationally from 1st August.

Honda Australia has announced the addition of a sporty RS grade and standard AEB to the refreshed HR-V line-up.

Honda has a storied reputation for creating cars and SUVs that are simply a joy to live with. Through its design philosophy known as “Man Maximum, Machine Minimum”, Honda ensures its vehicles are designed around the customer to be both stylish and functional. Honda’s HR-V has in turn earned a reputation as Australia’s most versatile Small SUV, by delivering an unsurpassed combination of interior flexibility, space, and storage.

The refreshed 2018 Honda HR-V builds on this strength with fresh styling across the range, and the addition of a sporty RS model. The new HR-V RS adds sporty design elements in the form of 18-inch alloys, piano black body kit including mirror caps and license-plate garnish, a honeycomb grille, and dark chrome exterior accents. Interior highlights includes a leather sports steering wheel, and new-design leather seats which are heated for both driver and front passenger.

Driving dynamics are sharper through new Variable Gear Ratio (VGR) steering, which is similar to the technology used successfully on the Honda Civic and Honda CR-V. The HR-V RS also adds front stabiliser bars, and improved suspension making it the most engaging HR-V yet.

Honda has also made its AEB-equivalent City-Brake Active System (C-BAS) standard across the HR-V range. C-BAS activates when driving at speeds of less than 30 km/h, via a laser radar built into the front windscreen. This enables the HR-V to detect possible obstructions, and apply the brakes automatically if the driver fails to brake.

Key Honda HR-V RS grade features are:

  • 18-inch black and silver alloys
  • Piano-black body kit
  • Black rear licence plate garnish
  • Leather sports interior, leather steering wheel
  • Black mirror caps
  • Honeycomb sports grille
  • LED front foglights
  • RS badge

A new Phoenix Orange Pearlescent paint option will also be introduced, available exclusively to HR-V RS customers.

The Honda HR-V is powered by a proven 105 kW, 172Nm four-cylinder engine offering a great combination of power and fuel economy.

Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins, said the arrival of the revised Honda HR-V will continue its strong momentum. “With our iconic Honda Civic and CR-V performing strongly, particularly with private buyers, our focus now shifts to HR-V. It’s been a consistent Top 3 seller with private buyers since its launch, and with the new car offering more style and more safety, we expect this trend to continue,” he said. Since the current model was launched 2015, the company has sold more than 36,000 HR-Vs and it has become a firm favourite among Small SUV buyers.

“Since HR-V arrived in 2015, we’ve built a very loyal group of owners who have very specific requirements built around space, versatility, and reliability,” he said.

“HR-V’s versatility really shines in its ability to nail ‘life admin’ tasks during the week, plus easily fit your mates and gear to get out there on the weekend. So the brief for the new HR-V was clear; keep what customers love, like the 18-way ‘Magic Seats’ and versatile roomy interior, and add some newfound style, sportiness, plus AEB across the range.”

Collins said the HR-V’s coupe-like roofline, strong lower body and powerful nose, provided a natural canvas to add the sporty RS model. By adding the sports grille, the HR-V’s ‘solid wing face’ design is enhanced. HR-V is also equipped with advanced collision safety features, including Honda’s ACE body structure, impact-mitigating front seats designed to help mitigate the risk of neck injury and six airbags.

Pricing and full specifications will be available closer to launch.

The 2017 Honda HR-V Limited Edition offers customers $3,600 worth of additional style and convenience features for a small $1,425 price premium over the regular HR-V VTi on which it is based. The list of customer-focused enhancements fitted to the new HR-V Limited Edition includes:

  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Side steps
  • Smart keyless entry
  • Push button start
  • Roof rails

The 2017 Honda HR-V Limited Edition is based on the VTi grade and is available nationally for a drive away price of $28,990*.

“Honda’s limited edition models have proven to be a popular addition to our regular offers, particularly for customers who are cross-shopping against other brands and looking for a great deal,” Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins said. “In the competitive Small SUV segment, the Honda HR-V Limited Edition outpoints its key rivals with a set of higher value-for-money features they simply can’t match, on top of the recent 2017 Year Model update that added satellite navigation as standard equipment on all HR-V variants.

“So we’re confident this new model will enable Honda to compete aggressively and maintain the HR-V’s sales momentum throughout 2017.”

The 2017 Honda HR-V Limited Edition is available in four exterior paint colours – Morpho Blue and White Orchid (both pearlescent), Lunar Silver and Modern Steel (both metallic). The Honda HR-V continues to be one of the most popular models in Honda’s line-up. Since its launch in February 2015, Honda has sold more than 28,000 HR-Vs and it has become the company’s biggest seller.

Collins said almost the entire Honda product portfolio would be refreshed or completely new by the end of 2017. “The 18-month period up until the end of this year represents the biggest product onslaught in Honda’s history in Australia.

“We’ve just launched the Civic hatch, next is the all-new CR-V with VTEC Turbo power and in a few months we’ll cap off the Civic range with the arrival of the eagerly anticipated, high-performance Civic Type R. This comes on top of product actions to the Accord, City and Odyssey since mid-2016, the major model introductions of Civic sedan and the NSX hybrid supercar, and we’ve still got more to come before this year is over.”

All Honda vehicles are covered by a 3-year, 100,000 km warranty, 6-year rust perforation warranty and a 3-year paint warranty.

Honda Australia’s top-selling HR-V compact SUV is now even better value for money following the release of an updated range for the 2017 Year Model (17YM). Satellite navigation is now fitted as standard equipment on all grades in the HR-V line-up, from the entry level VTi, all the way through the range to the top-of-the-line VTi-L with Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS).

Built into an updated audio system with 7.0-inch colour touchscreen, the addition of satellite navigation as standard equipment right across the HR-V line-up, particularly on the entry-level VTi, will ensure it maintains its competitive advantage in the small SUV market.

“Not only has the HR-V been the top selling model in the Honda range for the past two years, but it is also one of the top selling small SUVs on the market, consistently ranking in the top three sellers in what continues to be an ultra-competitive segment,” Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins said. “But more importantly for the Honda Australia business, HR-V continues to strike a chord with private buyers, where it leads the Small SUV segment with almost 83 per cent of its total sales over the past 12 months coming from the private sector.”

The Manufacturer’s List Price (MLP) for all grades of HR-V remains unchanged for the 17YM line-up, despite the addition of integrated satellite navigation as standard equipment. The 2017 Year Model Honda HR-V will go on sale around Australia during May.
